El BM Ciudad Real se proclamó campeón de la Liga Asobal después de vencer (29-24) al FC Barcelona en el partido correspondiente a la vigésimo novena jornada del Campeonato, que remontaron en la segunda parte de un choque hasta entonces igualado. Los manchegos se encontraron con un Barça confiado que plantó cara a su rival y dominó el encuentro durante una gran parte del mismo. Sin embargo, la expulsión de Iker Romero y la lesión de Rubén Garabaya acabaron minando a los barcelonistas, que no aguantaron el ritmo al final y terminaron sucumbiendo.</p
